Welcome to Shirley David YPL Foundation
Shirley David YPL is a foundation set to help people, especially the young, find meaning and purpose to life early enough, to grow to full potential, overcome hurdles and learn to identify and explore for themselves the ways that lead to a fulfilled life for self and society.
Established in November 2016, the YPL vision was birthed at a crisis moment in the Founder/Vision bearer’s life.
It has impacted thousands of people through its multiple community outreaches and helped hundreds through crisis moments in their lives as well. It was incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission as “Parchment YPL Foundation” and later on in 2020, it took on a new identification as “Shirley David YPL Foundation.”

TESTIMONIALS
Stories of impact and transformation from different programs.
In 2018, on the day I planned to end my life, I saw a Sweet16 billboard while walking through GRA, Benin; young, pregnant, and overwhelmed. Something told me to attend the event before ending it all, and that decision changed everything. I wept like a child that day, releasing years of pain, feeling truly seen for the first time. In that hall of electric joy, I found hope again and my life has never been the same.
Since I began joining whilst we wait, I’ve seen situations respond to prayer in my family.
Recently, we were on the verge of leaving the country after exhausting every effort to renew our immigration status. At the very last minute, through prayer and While We Wait, God turned it around. Today, we are at rest and can testify.
This year, our children joined us as we shared leaflets and cards in our neighborhood, at work, and on the streets.
Many received them warmly, though a few refused, which initially discouraged the kids. But we reminded them it’s normal and we’re grateful they’re learning to boldly share the Good News of God’s love.
